Earth Season | Late Summer
The Earth Element is related to late summer, a fifth season in TCM that we are entering now ✨
Earth time is all about finding your centre and preparing for the winter months ahead.
You may notice you are having cyclical thoughts, tension and poor digestion during this time. Nourish your body with seasonal cooked foods that come from the earth and grounding exercises like meditation, yoga or walks in nature. Aim to move seamlessly from Summer to Winter without fear or dread of 🌧 💨❄️

This season corresponds to the Spleen organ and Meridian in TCM, and is an important time to nourish this system. Here are some things to make your spleen happy:
🦶 Grounding - bare feet on earth, being in nature, mindful exercise, Qi Gong
🧘🏻♀️ Stretching - slow yoga flows, or deep yin yoga
🖐 Touch - get a massage, moisturise your body, include a foot massage in your yoga practise
🍠 Earth foods - sweet simple flavours from the earth - potatoes, sweet potatoes, onion, carrots - minimal seasoning
👿 What harms the spleen? Overthinking, overworking, excessive exercise or physical work, irregular eating (ie too late/too fast), sugary/oily foods.
