Gua Sha Facial

Gua Sha is a technique of scraping the skin, traditionally used on the body to release toxins and relieve areas of tension in the muscles. Where tension is held we see the “Sha” - aka petechiae, a type of blood bruising that is painless and fades in around 48 hours.

Practising Gua Sha on the face is a much more gentle treatment, targeting the top two layers of the skin to improve circulation of blood and oxygen and aid lymphatic function. Collagen and elastin live in these top layers! The pressure is much lighter on the face to avoid working into the muscle layer, causing petechiae.

⭐️Studies have shown that one minute per day of facial Gua Sha can increase microcirculation by up to 400% - and this has been found to be particularly effective in women.

This improved circulation to the face means...

✧ Consistent renewal of healthy skin cells
✧ Healing areas of scarring and pigmentation
✧ Effective removal of waste and toxins from the skin, and reduced congestion via the lymphatic system
✧ The facial muscles are supple, preventing tension and sagging skin

You can also use the tip of your Gua Sha tool to gently stimulate acupressure points on the face for a number of physical and mental health benefits ⭐️
